The Bull at Benenden is situated in the heart of the classic village of Benenden. Nestled on the edge of the village green, the pub is perfect for enjoying real ales, local cider, fine wines and good traditional food in a jolly atmosphere with friendly service and company! Only a short drive from some of the most beautiful castles, stately homes and gardens in the Weald, such as Bodiam Castle, Hole Park Gardens, Leeds Castle, Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens and Great Dixter. The Bull is the perfect stop off for a quick tipple, light lunch or supper.
So along with our beautiful village, local church, community shop, great walks, cricket on the green and pretty surroundings there are many reasons to visit us. Built by William Bugg Esq. as a private residence in 1608 on the site of a much earlier building, The Bull did not become a ’public house’ until a few years later. Designed around a huge chimney, the pub is full of fascinating architectural features such Chinoiserie windows, inglenook fireplaces, carved beams and lots of nooks and crannies. We have furnished it with antique tables and chairs, cosy rugs and cushions, low lighting, candles and antique portraits which together create the perfect atmosphere, transporting you back to the early 17th Century.
If you are looking for a modern chain type pub we are not the one for you!
